About Dr. Madhu Fernando - FRANZCOG

An obstetrician and gynaecologist with integrity and good surgical skills, Dr Fernando is a member of the Hornsby Women’s Health team. She brings to the team a pleasant attitude, clinical experience and also comprehensive and continuous care to women.

Dr Fernando completed her primary medical degree in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She has postgraduate qualifications in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Sri Lanka, UK and Australia. She has been working in Australia for the last 14 years in various hospitals in Sydney and rural NSW. 

She brings to the team her trusting nature and attentiveness to detail which complements her surgical skills. Her communication with patients is exceptional, ensuring that patients understand well their situation and any procedures which they need to undertake. She builds trust with patients and demonstrates professionalism throughout her engagement with patients and all staff. Overall, Dr Fernando is a seasoned professional whom patients will find extremely competent, reasonable and empathetic and with whom patients will have an extremely pleasant experience.
